A Bittersweet Life (Dalkomhan insaeng) - Cinemapix

The second image in my Cinemapix series where I take scenes from my favourite movies and recreate them as pixel art.
I choose the scenes I wish to recreate mostly based on their composition or connection they have to the story or characters. So often times these are not the iconic scenes that everyone automatically connects with this movie.

"A Bittersweet Life" for me is a worthy representation of modern asian cinema in general and shows western audiences that eastern cinema has more to offer than martial arts movies and anime.
This particular scene can be seen quite a few times during the movie.I  consider it to be a key scene when it comes to forming the protagonist's motifs.
It also works as a drastic change of pace. While most of the film is rather fast paced and intense the recording studio and everything that is happening in there is given a very peaceful and quiet character. Audio and video connect flawlessly and give this part of the movie an almost dreamlike feel to it. Gives me goosebumps everytime

It was hard for me to choose between the scene in the recording studio and the scene in the "la Dolce Vita" bar. Both are of vital imnportance for the movie. Buldup and payoff in perfect symbiosis here. But I didn't want to spoil aynbody so I decided to use the recording studio scene.
